“Training” is a process of acquiring knowledge, skills, competencies, or behaviors through systematic instruction, practice, and experience. It is a deliberate and structured effort to impart specific abilities or expertise to individuals or groups with the goal of enhancing their performance, capabilities, and understanding in a particular area or field.
Key characteristics and aspects of training include:

- Structured Approach: Training typically follows a structured curriculum or plan that outlines the topics, goals, and learning outcomes. It often involves organized modules, lessons, or sessions.

- Practice and Application: Training often involves practical exercises, hands-on experience, or simulations that allow learners to apply what they have learned in real-world or simulated situations. Practice is essential for skill development.
- Assessment and Feedback: Learners are typically assessed during or after training to evaluate their progress and comprehension. Feedback from assessments helps learners understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
- Adaptation: Effective training programs are adaptable to the needs of learners. They can be customized or adjusted based on individual learning styles, pace, and preferences.
- Continuous Improvement: Training is an ongoing process. It may be repeated or modified as needed to keep up with changing knowledge, skills, or industry standards.
- Variety of Delivery Methods: Training can be delivered through various methods, including in-person instruction, online courses, workshops, seminars, mentoring, coaching, and self-paced study.
Training can encompass a wide range of subjects and purposes, including:
- Employee Training: In the workplace, training is often used to improve employee skills and knowledge related to their job roles, company policies, and industry standards.
- Professional Development: Individuals seek training to enhance their qualifications, advance their careers, and stay up-to-date in their respective fields.
